I SAW ESAU

I Saw Esau: The Schoolchild's Pocket Book edited by Iona Opie and Peter Opie and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. I came across it some time ago in Pasajes: Maurice Sendak was enough to captivate me. But later at home I was sure it was one of my best buys ever. I love the illustrations and though I'm not familiar with any of the rhymes I think they're great.

And today I discovered the British Library's website: its learning section has the direct connection to Playtimes: A century to Children's Games and Rhymes. It is an interesting page to browse but my favourite is the Kid's Zone.
Lovely combination.

THERE'S GOING TO BE A BABY

Wow! A new book titled There's Going to Be a Baby illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, written by John Burningham, her husband. I'm really looking forward to having a look at it. Meanwhile, let's enjoy her voice.
